“We always end up talking about politics,” Karolina says with an exaggerated weariness. An increasingly toxic politics has polluted kitchens and dining rooms in every region of the country. But the negativity of the country’s politics – arguments echoed each hour on state TV, which is almost always turned on – has worn her down, she says. The efforts sparked years of legal challenges, protests and international confrontations – and hardened the Polish public. Asked whether Polish politics is more divided than they remember it, three generations of this family explode in agreement.

Kicinski added that the quality assurance process is almost complete for Phantom Liberty, which is the studio's first major new game release in nearly three years. The game is the first and only expansion to Cyberpunk 2077, which came out in 2020, and the company started the marketing campaign for Phantom Liberty in June. Member of the management board Michal Nowakowski reiterated on the conference call that Phantom Liberty will be the only expansion to Cyberpunk 2077. Phantom Liberty is the last project developed on REDEngine. At the end of July, its biggest developer group, about 300 people, worked on Phantom Liberty.

Rising debt costs would be just one extra facet of the overall economic damage which climate change is already causing. While developing nations with lower credit scores are seen hit hardest by the physical effects of climate change, nations with the highest ranking credit scores were likely to face more severe downgrades simply because they have furthest to fall. The findings come as regulators around the world seek to better understand just how much damage to economies and the global financial system to expect from climate change. A European Central Bank paper last year urged greater clarity in how those risks were being built into credit ratings. S&P Global Ratings has published the environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles used in its credit ratings which include reference to the risk of economic damage from climate change and the costs associated with mitigating it.

April 6 (Reuters) - Poland's biggest bank PKO BP's (PKO.WA) acting Chief Executive Pawel Gruza will step down from his role on April 12, the bank said on Thursday. Gruza had been awaiting approval from the country's regulator (KNF) to take over the CEO role ever since he was appointed acting CEO on Aug. 9. The gave no reason on Thursday for his decision to step down as acting CEO. The move marks the fourth departure at the top of PKO BP since May 2021, when Zbigniew Jagiello surprised the market by resigning as chief executive after 12 years at the helm. Since his departure, PKO BP has already had three CEOS: Jan Emeryk Rosciszewski, followed by Iwona Duda and then acting chief Gruza.
GDANSK Dec 8 (Reuters) - Poland's largest lender PKO BP (PKO.WA) is actively seeking out M&A opportunities, the bank's management board vice president Pawel Gruza said during a conference call with investors and journalists on Thursday. "We will actively monitor the market situation regarding realistic acquisition opportunities in order to build our additional competencies," he said, adding that it would take too much time to expand through the bank's existing operations. On the same call, CFO Bartosz Drabikowski said that the bank aims to maintain its dividend policy. "We can imagine that...ROE may even have a '2' in front - of course it depends on the assumptions, conditions," he said.
